Single Pass AAO Template

Aluminum based AAO (Anodic Aluminum Oxide) template, also known as single pass AAO template, has a honeycomb structure composed of many hexagonal cylindrical alumina (Al2O3) cells. Each cell has a circular small hole in the middle and a hemispherical barrier layer at the bottom of the hole. The bottom of the barrier layer is aluminum based, also known as single pass AAO or single pass AAO template. Aluminum based AAO is the simplest porous nano template series, with easy preparation and high yield, capable of achieving uniform preparation over a large area of several hundred square centimeters. Figure 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of an aluminum based AAO template or porous nano template. According to different preparation conditions, the pore size of single pass AAO can reach tens to hundreds of nanometers, and the pore depth (i.e. the thickness of AAO on the AAO template) can be continuously controlled, ranging from tens of nanometers to tens of micrometers. The nanoscale pores on the surface of aluminum based AAO are arranged in a short-range ordered manner, with an ordered range of micrometers and a hexagonal close packed structure. Its pore size is uniformly controllable over a large area and can be used as a master to transfer porous structures onto other materials. The high-density pore distribution and slender pore channels provide a three-dimensional nanostructure with extremely high surface area, which can achieve large-scale adsorption of organic molecules and has great application prospects in areas such as optical detection.
