Assembly looks simple, but uneven pressure or poor sealing directly distorts test data. Here is the standard procedure and troubleshooting guide.
Test molds for solid-state lithium-ion batteries are used for powder pressing and constant-pressure testing. Assembly quality directly determines whether data is comparable.
Assembly points. First, fill powder evenly to avoid local accumulation causing uneven pressure distribution. Second, press slowly to give the powder time to rearrange. Third, inspect seals before every use and replace them as soon as compression marks or deformation appear.
Pressure control. Test pressure depends on the material system. Too low and interface contact is poor with excessive impedance; too high and the electrolyte pellet may crack. Running a pressure-gradient trial before formal testing is recommended to establish the window.
Common issues. If impedance is abnormally high, check interface contact and pressure uniformity first. If open-circuit voltage decays quickly, check sealing and assembly environment humidity. If repeatability is poor, confirm that the filling amount is consistent each time.
Recording fill amount, pressure value and holding time as a standard work card is the most effective way to improve data consistency.
